SnipIT No 2: Lock/Unlock User Account in Solaris

SnipIT is a series of short blogs containing useful information in an easily digestible format.

When logged in as root you can lock and unlock a user account with the passwd command.

Lock an Account
passwd -l

Unlock an Account
passwd -u

Confirmation of either change is then shown:
passwd: password information changed for
